Precipitated Chalk reduces the acidity in homebrew wines
By adding 7g of chalk per gallon of wine you will reduce the acidity by 1.5 ppt
Ensure there is enough headspace in your fermenting vessel before adding the chalk to allow for the chemical reaction of foaming to occur, this is a natural reaction when the chalk mixes with the acid in the wine
